Beyond being a truly unique concept, our kiosks reflect the same
dedication to detail, functionality, and innovative problem-solving that has
defined our sister company Coffee Quest, since 2014.
The vision began when our founder and director, Peter Fears, was commissioned to develop a flexible coffee solution for a busy golf course. They needed to serve high-quality coffee throughout the day, and take contactless payments at all hours. Now for the tricky bit: the system also needed to be portable, with the ability to be easily relocated to the 9th hole as needed.
Since nothing of its kind existed, our guiding mantra - “there’s always a way; we just have to find it” - drove us into action.
Peter and the Coffee Quest team began to develop a prototype kiosk, equipping it with our best-selling bean-to-cup coffee machine and a purpose built supply unit. We began a lengthy and rigorous testing period at various sites and events, trialling different technologies and power supplies - learning and refining every step of the way.
Keen to expand our reach and position the kiosks as an independent brand, Off Grid Coffee launched at the end of 2024.
In the background, we were still continually developing our concept whilst building an inventory of kiosks. Since our journey began in 2022, the battery market evolved significantly. The introduction of newly available Instagrid Power Units streamlined our setup process and enhanced flexibility, enabling multiple battery packs to support our kiosks with increased drink output and greater customisation.
While all individual components are available on the market, to our knowledge, no other company has combined them into a compact, fully integrated solution quite like we have.
No two kiosks are the same (unless you want them to be!). Kiosks are available in one size, mains or battery powered, completed in your choice of durable paint colour, with a machine to match your estimated output. Optional extras include undercounter heaters, internal insulation and signal boosting ariels.
